Bhattal redesignated as Deputy CM

CHANDIGARH: Senior Congress leader and Punjab agriculture minister Rajinder Kaur Bhattal, who recently led a revolt against Chief Minister Amarinder Singh, demanding change in leadership, was on Tuesday redesignated as Deputy Chief Minister, according to official sources.
Governor O P Verma redesignated her post on the recommendation of the chief minister with immediate effect.
It is part of the deal struck with dissidents during their talks with the Congress high command in Delhi recently.
Both the CM and the Deputy CM are leaving for Delhi on Tuesday to discuss the cabinet expansion with the party high command.
